A visually beautiful film, with a story line that is heart-warming and sweet and charming. Lovely

One of my favourite childrens' books of all time - I was sceptical of how it would be transferred to the big screen. It took me three years to work up the courage to see Harry Potter. But kudos to Mr.Scorsese - it was cinematically beautiful and true to the essence of the story of Hugo Cabret. I loved it!

I enjoyed this one! The backdrops were great, set in 1930's Paris, some excellent shots of Paris. The story revolves around an orphan boy who lives in the walls of the train station where he is forever trying to escape the station policeman who is intent on catching him and sending him off to an orphanage. The young lad is trying to solve a mystery set by his late father regarding an automaton. Much of the movie is set in the railway underground, where you will be swept up in the world of make believe (nothing wrong with that for a couple of hours!) ! Excellent acting by the main characters Asa Butterfield, Chloë Grace Moretz and Christopher Lee. Movie directed by Martin Scorsese - I say no more other than "go and see it".

beautiful, too long, three stories - two too many, confused, quaint, but very enjoyable, and a great reminder of the magical early days of movie pioneers

Good movie. Did not expect it to be but was recommended to try. Will recommend to others again. Haven't watch inspiring movie lately.

A very slow and boring movie. Even my 12yr old son said "thats 2hrs of our life we'll never get back"
Ben Kingsley was very good in his role however.

Really beautiful designed and put together sets, fashion, cinematography and story. I was absorbed in the movie the whole time. Saw it in normal not 3D.

Hugo is without a doubt the pinnacle of director Martin Scorsese's career. The fusion of vibrant, embracing visual effects and the musical score creates one of the greatest viewing experiences I have ever been witness to. Every single shot seems to have been masterfully crafted by the cinematographer to engorge the viewers hunger for incredible scenery and mise en scene. The performances by the young actors was truly incredible and the efforts from Ben Kingsley, Helen McCrory and Sacha Baron Cohen seals this little package of majesty neatly. Definitely a prime contender for Best Picture at this year's Academy Awards.

I enjoyed seeing a movie that was all about the story and the characters rather than the special effects. Quite a nice afternoon diversion.
