Synopsis
Academy award winning actresses Olympia Dukakis and Brenda Fricker play elderly lesbian lovers in this hilarious and heartwarming Thelma and Louise retake. Stella and Dot have been living together for 31 years, but when Dot's concerned granddaughter uses power of attorney to have her placed in aged care, wise-cracking, trash-talking, fight-picking Stella takes matters into her own hands, kidnapping her sweetheart and driving her across the border to Canada where they can marry. This is a joyous romance that delivers great swathes of heart and humour while never delving into schmaltz or saccharine.
