Synopsis

Too Fast to be a Woman

As Caster Semenya achieved her dream of winning the 800m World Championship rumours of a failed gender test spread into a vicious and voyeuristic media storm. Caster's triumph soon became public humiliation, questions about her being intersex were asked, and international lawyers and scientists began to argue over what it is to be and compete as a woman. Australian documentarian Maxx Ginnane spent much of the year by Semenya's side resulting in this poignant and important documentary.
