AUDIO DESCRIPTION VIEWING SYSTEM AT HOYTS CINEMAS

Hoyts Cinemas introduces the Audio Description Viewing System for vision impaired movie audiences.

Audio description (AD) refers to an additional narration track for blind and visually impaired consumers of visual media. It consists of a narrator talking through the presentation, describing what is happening on the screen during the natural pauses in the audio, and sometimes during dialogue if deemed necessary. At the accessible locations the signal is sent to a receiver which a headset worn by the user is connected.

At present, we have 22 locations with this state-of-the-art technology, Hoyts Broadway NSW, Hoyts Bankstown NSW, Hoyts Chatswood Mandarin NSW, Hoyts Chatswood Westfield NSW, Hoyts Eastgardens NSW, Hoyts Erina NSW, Hoyts Mt.
