Vasanti leaves prison after five years in the megalopolis of Kolkata but is unable to trace her husband or son. Chandu, a seasoned fraudster, offers to help and also has a vile purpose. Political goons, flesh traders, police, and real estate mafia get entangled in the narrative. They run amok through the city of Kolkata, disappear into a religious carnival and reach the coalfields of Bihar.
